The mode revolves around what Bungie is calling “passages. If players lose five rounds, they lose a match. Lose three matches, and the scorecard is revoked until players return to the Reef for another.
The maximum number of wins for each scorecard is nine, and earning at least eight will net players the high-tier Gold rewards. However, if players are unhappy with the early rounds of their scorecard, they can buy a new one for glimmer —— Bungie wanted to keep the cost cheap in order to encourage players to shoot for the best outcome. If players should survive past the time limit of any respective round, a sudden death overtime rule will be instituted in the form of a central control zone.
When the time runs out, the team with at least one player in the zone —— or with the player closest to the zone —— will win the round. Lastly, according to Bungie, quitting will count as a loss on players’ scorecards.
By Matt Davidson Destiny 2 ‘s first expansion, Curse of Osiris, has now launched, bringing with it a slew of new additions to the game – including, in one instance, a heavily-overpowered weapon that is wreaking havoc in the PvP game modes. The Prometheus Lens, an exotic trace rifle, is a highly stable weapon with great range – and it comes with a laser that can tear enemies to shreds in just a few seconds, making it by far the game’s most powerful weapon.
Gamers have been vocal about the weapon on the Destiny subreddit , as laser carnage reigns over the current PvP arena. Exit Theatre Mode Responding, Bungie confirmed that the weapon is bugged; although no further details are given, Bungie’s Community Manager DeeJ promises that the issue will be addressed: Prometheus Lens shipped with a bug.
In addition to the Trials of Osiris, Bungie is also planning to introduce some big changes to the Crucible as a whole. First off, three new maps (four for PlayStation players) will be introduced in House of Wolves: Black Shield, Thieves’ Den, Widow’s Court, and the PlayStation-exclusive map Timekeeper.
Taken enemies are variations of the existing enemies seen in other parts of the game as a whole, but have a darker, undead -like appearance, and have new abilities and attacks. All participants in Court of Oryx battles receive rewards, but the player who initiated the battle will receive higher-valued rewards. The runes correspond to three difficulty levels, ranging from easier fights to “just below Nightfall”.
Each focuses on an element that had not been represented among each class’s preexisting sub-classes, and features a new super ability. The Hunter class’s new Void-based sub-class “Nightstalker” includes a bow-like super known as the “Shadowshot” that tethers enemies together, limiting movement and preventing enemies from using abilities for a short time. The Titan’s “Sunbreaker” sub-class features a solar-based super, the “Hammer of Sol”, creating a flaming hammer that can be thrown at enemies, or used for close-quarters combat.
The Warlock’s new sub-class, the arc-based “Stormcaller” includes the super “Stormtrance”, which produces lightning bolts that chains between enemies. Up to four active bounties and quests can be pinned to be displayed on the bottom-right of the screen when Nav Mode is used. This was criticized because it limited the customization options of the players. These “light levels” have been removed, with experience-based leveling used across the entire game, up to level 40 for owners of The Taken King.

At any rate, once that a Passage obtained, players will then have to create a team of three on their own, as Trials will apparently not allow matchmaking.

The plot is shallow, filled with characters that are generic, lifeless, and utterly devoid of any reason as to why you might care about them. The main baddy, Gaul, has no motivation for anything he does other than “he’s a bad guy”, no backstory, and no reason for doing anything he does.
The NPC protagonists are lifeless, flat, 2-dimensional objects who serve no purpose except as narrative devices to further what can only generously be called a plot. The voice acting is awful, with the exception of Nathan Fillion, and even he is forced to work with bad, non-sensical writing robots don’t eat, so why a joke about shooting the big baddy in the head and then eating a sandwich?
The strikes are boring and linear. Run here, kill some of them, get to the end, kill a boss that is just a scaled up version of one of the thousands of baddies you’ve killed up to that point.
